My 76 Scout II had a 4 Rough Country Lift and granted the shocks were tired, installing the Bilsteins was worth every penny. Still rides like a lifted truck, but less bounce and squeaks. Installation is simple just know they mount shaft down. My one complaint was I wish the Stud to Eye Conversion for the front came with shock mounting hardware. The guy I spoke to at IH Parts was extremely helpful in making the shock length selection. Two Thumbs up.

 

Q: Good evening, I recently bought a 1980 Scout 2. Current has 33x12.5R15 tires, 5” shackles, and what appears to be 2.5” leaf springs (rear is 54” eye to eye and front is 42” eye to eye). Current shocks are Pro Comp 326500 in front and the 6000 in rear. What would you recommend Bilstein for my set up. I should note, I don’t know much about off road set ups and this is what I’ve been able to piece together this evening (I may be incorrect on some of these values and need education). Please reply when you get a moment, thank you.
A: Hello, Bilstein shocks will make your Scout ride with more 'sport' attributes compared to what you have now. It will be stiffer, however handle bumps and speed bumper. They are also better quality and last a long time.
Q: Which one of these replaces the CPT Scout lift? I had a mishap and I think i need a direct replacement. Bought the kit from you a couple uears ago.
