Reverse Lock Out Spring for Borg Warner T18, T19 or T98 4-Speed Transmission

This is the spring that goes into the shift cover and keeps the reverse lockout button engaged for easier shifting into third or fourth gear. Most of the time these are broken after years of use and should always be replaced when rebuilding a transmission.
Q: I have a 79 Jeep CJ five with a T 18 transmission with the low first gear ratio. My transmission wants to go enter reverse sometimes when I shift to third gear. Will this spring help with that? Will it work in my transmission?
A: It possibly may help. This helps the shifter not go into the reverse gate without force.
